The difference

Where asktrix is different

No conversation caps. No asktrix plan limits how many conversations you have. Plans differ in seats, history and features – a sale or a busy season doesn't change your bill.

AI at provider cost. Trix runs on your API key from Anthropic, OpenAI or another provider. You pay the tokens at your provider's list price; there are no AI conversation packs to buy. Tidio sells Lyro in packs, from $32.50/month for 50 conversations.

Email and a help center from Start. For $19.99/month plus VAT, Start adds email, a help center and Trix to the live chat. Team ($44.99/month, up to 6 seats) removes the asktrix branding and adds learning notes, quiet hours, analytics and campaigns.

When Tidio may fit you better

You need many seats on a free plan. Tidio Free includes 10 seats; asktrix Free has two team members.

Sales automation is your main goal. Tidio positions itself around turning chats into revenue and offers automations called Flows. If that is what you need most, compare them with what you plan to do in the chat.

Switching

Moving from Tidio to asktrix

Plan for an afternoon. You can run both side by side on a test page until you are happy.

  1. Create a free workspace

    Sign up and invite your team. Start and Team can be tried free for 14 days.

  2. Bring your contacts

    If you can export your contacts from Tidio as a CSV file, import them under Contacts → Import from CSV (up to 10,000 rows per file; existing contacts are matched by email).

  3. Set up your help center

    Recreate your most-asked answers as help center articles (Start plan and up) – they are also what Trix answers from.

  4. Connect your AI key and test Trix

    Add your key from Anthropic, OpenAI or another provider and check the answers in the playground before Trix talks to visitors.

  5. Swap the snippet

    Copy the snippet from Settings → Channels → Installation, replace the Tidio code on your website and remove the old one.

Does asktrix limit conversations like Tidio?

No. No asktrix plan limits the number of conversations. Tidio's plans include a set number of billable conversations – 50 on Free, 100 on Starter, from 250 on Growth (as of 6 November 2026).

How does Trix compare with Lyro on cost?

Trix runs on your own API key: your AI provider bills the tokens, asktrix adds nothing. Lyro is sold by Tidio in packs, from $32.50/month for 50 conversations. Which is cheaper depends on your volume and the model you choose.

Can I move my contacts from Tidio?

Yes, as a CSV file under Contacts → Import from CSV (up to 10,000 rows per file, matched by email). Past conversations are not imported, so keep an export if you need them.
